REFERRAL SERVICES MANAGER
PIEDMONT HEALTH SERVICES

Responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and efficient referral services system. Establish processes that standardize and centralize the referral process across all of Piedmont Health. He/she will lead a team that will receive, process, track, and complete referrals for all patients. This individual will also monitor the effectiveness of the referral management process through reports, and identify and address any deficiencies throughout the process. Successful candidates must have demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to learn new technologies quickly in a real world context. This position requires the ability to explain technology to diverse customers and ensure they are able to use applications and functionality effectively to accomplish their work.
Four-year degree with Business or Health Administration emphasis on healthcare delivery institutions and minimum of two years experience in medical/health care settings or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional initiative, judgment, problem solving, interpersonal, customer service, and computer skills are necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Position requires good organizational skills, understanding of computer systems application in insurance claims processing, knowledge of cost based reimbursement, knowledge of medical diagnosis and procedure codes, ability to develop and conduct staff training, understanding of managed care concepts and the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires frequent sitting for long periods, operation of standard office machines and computer. May require lifting of up to
25 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer
terminals, telephones or copiers. Requires normal vision range. Work is performed in an office environment. Contact with
staff and external clients/vendors.
