The Associate Director leads the employee relations HR directives with both hands-on and strategic support to cultivate an innovative, high-performing and inclusive culture.
This highly visible and interactive role will provide guidance to leaders and staff to achieve outstanding employee engagement. This role will advise and educate leaders in employee relations practices, conduct workplace investigations, participates in the internal employee grievance procedure and assists employees in addressing workplace concerns. The Associate Director will also provide education to the leadership team regarding changing laws, harassment prevention, and other topics as needed.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required. Master's Degree preferred
Experience: Successful candidate will possess a minimum of 5-7years experience in employee relations matters for an employer with multi-site locations, non-profit, health care organization preferred. Extensive knowledge and experience working with employment laws including but not limited to: ADA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state and local laws governing the workplace is required. Must be a strategic thinker with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Licensures/Certifications: PHR or SPHR preferred
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, internet and email; working knowledge of PowerPoint and database functions;
Ability to learn and become an expert with HR systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires frequent sitting for long periods, operation of standard office machines and computers. May require lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephones or
copiers. Requires normal vision range. Contact with all employees, insurance companies and other outside vendors.
